Q: Some user’s fingerprint often can’t be verified, how can such problem be solved?
A: The following situations can result in a terminal not being able to verify a fingerprint:
(1) Fingerprint was rubbed down;
(2) Too many crinkles on fingerprint;
(3) Serious desquamation of fingers.
If the user’s fingerprint is not able to be verified, please delete it then enroll it again, or use a different finger forenrollment instead. Select the best fingers to enroll (less crinkles, etc.). When enrolling a user please make sure that the finger covers the biggest area it can on the sensor. Do a verification test right after enroll ment. It is recommended to enroll more than one fingerprint per user.

Q: What will cause a communication error between the software and the terminal.
A: Possible reasons:
1. Wrong COM setting, COM port chosen is not the COM port actually used.
2. Baud rate setting on computer COM port and fingerprint terminal is different.

A: When connecting to the unit using RS232communications then the baud rate on the terminal and the software is not the same. If using RS-485 communication, it might be the two communication wires swapped around or the two wires are touching each other.

A: Possible reasons:
1. The fingerprint sensor is dirty or scratched. If it is dirty you can use adhesive tape to remove it.

Q: When I try to download the attendance record from the terminal to the software, it shows failure or mistake midway into the communication, but when I download fingerprint templates or other management setting from terminal it works fine.
A: This can be the result of the communication cable, converter or COM port on the computer being faulty. This can affect the baud rate on the communications. Set the baud rates to 9600 or 19200 then try again.

How to connect biometric device with our Access control?
Now, many customers get a problem that how to connect biometric device ( such as finger reader ,facial device etc) to controller and how to operate in the software.
Now let’s introduce how to connect biometric device with our access controller by example as finger reader:
This solution also suitable for how to connect facial recognition to controller.
Here’s the solution
1、Connection fingerprint card reader with Access Control
The default output of Fingerprint reader is wiegand 26 bit. so there has connection the cables with d0 , d1 ,GND for access control!
Generally that is better to use the power supply with fingerprint card reader , because of sometimes the controller will have not enough current flow to support fingerprint card reader.
2、Operation between fingerprint card reader and access controller
Only users registered on finger reader can output wiegand 26 bit , otherwise can’t..
Generally , the default wiegand output format is deviceNo. + register No. then you can register card No. in access controller software.
For example：the fingerprint device No. is 1, and the user registerNo. is 100,so the appeared No. is 100100 on the Access Control software , then you assign privilege to this user , finally the user registered on fingerprint card reader can open the door.
There is two ways to see the Wiegand output format how to appeared on access controller software:
First one: click add by reader:

If you want your software use SQL database ,you need to install the SQL server 2000 first.The default database is access.

Chapter 2 Mediumsize LAN with different segment
Applications description
Controller and computer are spread indifferent segment. Computer in one segment and controller in another segment.
Solution as follows:
1. Search Controller in same segment. The steps pls reference chapter 1.
2. Setting Controller IP Address
In the search interface, selectedController which one want to be set IP Address (the ip address is in another segment ,not the same with computer),click 【edit】or double click. :
Fill in the new IP Address， click 【ok】.
After that , the controller IP Address withS/N：31059 change as 192.168.168.51,
But your computer is not in 168 segments.
Then put the controller in 168 segment network.
You can ping controller IP address ,if through, you can add controller to software and manage it.

Chapter 3 Internet Setting
Users Visit Controller via the Internet, just for a dynamic domain name or a static public IP. Then you can manage controller via internet.
Essential Condition
1．Set controller ip.
2. Need a router, the router support port forward.
3. Apply for a domain name, usually the ADL distributed is a dynamic IP.
Set controller ip, pls reference chapter 1.
Open router interface. Set port forward to controller ip. the controller default port is 60000, you surely can change it .
Apply for a dynamic domain name from domain website.
After this, you can add the controller to software and manage it.
Wg3721.gicp.net is a domain name we applied for from domain website.
After steps, you can see the settings are successful.
